# High-Resolution Images

> Every BirdTab photo is 2400px wide, sharp on large monitors and high-density displays.

Every bird photo in BirdTab is **2400px wide**. There's no setting to turn on: high-resolution images are what every new tab shows.

## Why it matters

The extra detail is most visible on large monitors and high-density (Retina/HiDPI) displays, where feathers, eyes, and textures stay crisp at full screen.

## Fast loading

High resolution doesn't mean slow tabs. While you look at one bird, BirdTab quietly downloads the next one in the background, so the following new tab opens quickly.

> Some photos are resized from the original for display. When that happens, the photo credit details show a **Resized from original** tag; hover over the photo credit to see it.
