Media & Playback

The geographic area from which your daily birds are drawn. Defaults to United States.Free users are limited to United States. BirdTab Pro unlocks 200+ regions worldwide.
Default: OffWhen enabled, BirdTab automatically plays media each time you open a new tab:
  • In photo mode — plays the bird’s audio call
  • In video mode — plays the bird video
Auto-play is suppressed during Quiet Hours.
Default: OffPrevents audio from auto-playing between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM. When active, a moon icon appears in the toolbar.Videos can still auto-play during Quiet Hours, but they play muted. You can always play or pause audio manually — the restriction only applies to auto-play.
Default: Off · Pro featureSwitches from static photos to short video clips of the bird in its natural habitat. Requires an active BirdTab Pro subscription or trial.
Default: Off · Pro featureIncreases the image resolution from 1200px to 2400px. Requires an active BirdTab Pro subscription or trial.

Productivity

Default: OnEnables the search box, most-visited sites (Top Sites), and custom shortcuts area. Disabling this hides all Quick Access elements for a fully minimal view.
Default: Browser DefaultControls which engine handles searches from the Quick Access search box:
  • Browser Default (uses your Chrome search engine setting)
  • Google
  • DuckDuckGo
  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity AI
Default: OffShows a grid of Google app icons (Gmail, Drive, Docs, etc.) in the Quick Access area.
Default: OnShows a small icon that opens a Chrome default new tab page — useful if you ever need Chrome’s built-in new tab features.
Default: Clock · Pro featureControls what appears in the Quick Access area:
  • Off — nothing shown
  • Clock — current time (12-hour or 24-hour, optional seconds)
  • Timer — countdown timer (configurable duration, optional alarm)

Language

BirdTab defaults to your browser’s language setting. To change it manually, select from the language dropdown in Settings. Supported languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and more.
