After installing BirdTab, a short onboarding flow opens automatically. It takes about 30 seconds and helps you set your defaults.

Welcome

Quick intro to BirdTab and what you can expect on each new tab.

Choose your region

Select your birding region. This controls which birds are shown in your daily feed.Free users: United States only. Pro users (or active trial): 200+ regions.

Auto-play preference

Choose whether bird audio should auto-play when a new tab opens.

Change onboarding choices later

You can edit onboarding choices anytime in Settings:
  • Birding Region
  • Auto-play Media

Feature tour after onboarding

After setup, BirdTab may show a short feature tour to point out key controls.

If onboarding does not appear

  • Open a new tab and check if BirdTab is already active.
  • Make sure BirdTab is enabled in your browser’s extension settings.
  • Disable and re-enable the BirdTab extension, then open a new tab.
